Feminist investigative journalism is about making investigative journalism agendas, as well as investigative teams, leaderships and methodologies more inclusive of diverse communities and issues that affect them. It is about what issues are prioritized, and how work is done and by whom. In this panel leading journalists, and an activist who works in deep collaboration with journalists, will share lessons learned from investigations they have carried out in different parts of the world, and speak to how they have focused on under-reported issues affecting women, LGBTQI people, and indigenous communities.

How should stories be approached when the desired outcome is to have impact and hold people or organizations to account? As journalists we know how to spot a story and how to tell them effectively, but what should we be thinking of when the goal is also to improve the lives of the people a story is about? Panelists will share examples and experiences of reporting when the first question is why they are telling a story -- and how they do this with gender inequality in mind.

Il titolo scelto per l'assemblea nazionale di Non una di meno (NUDM) 12-13 aprile è "Sciogliere nodi e tessere trame: uniamo le lotte contro la violenza patriarcale, la guerra e la militarizzazione, per una trasformazione radicale dell'esistente, dei linguaggi e delle nostre vite". La scelta, nel titolo e nella locandina, della metafora della tessitura, un tema ricorrente nel femminismo degli anni Settanta/Ottanta, segna una continuità tra ieri e oggi.

Alessandra Sciurba è professoressa associata di "Filosofia e sociologia del diritto" all'università di Palermo. E' stata la primissima presidente e poi portavoce di Mediterranea Saving Humans, unica Ong italiana a monitorare il Mediterraneo assieme alle altre navi della flotta civile europea.  "La strumentalità del fenomeno dell'immigrazione serve per indebolire il nostro sistema di diritti, per rinsaldare governi fondati su tutto tranne che sulla volontà di affrontare i reali problemi della popolazione"
